Reducing the load
by admin on Mar.04, 2010, under About Me, Uncategorized
Well it looks like I was unable to pull off the 15 credit hours and the 40 hours of work this semester. I am planning to withdraw from 2 classes taking me down to 9 credit hours for this semester. You can only withdraw from 6 classes during your college career here in Texas, so I hope I don’t need to do it more than 4 more times. This is also going to change my plans to move up to Denton in Fall 2011 as I am going to have to take at least another year of classes at Lone Star CC. The decision to drop two classes was hard, but this schedule is killing me and my school work is suffering already.
As for everything else…. I only have to work 9 days in March. I took 2 weeks of vacation and 2 comp days this month and plan to relax as much as possible. I will still have school but won’t have to go to work and be there till 1:30 – 2:00 am.
I am planning to update this page as much as I can so check back in a week or two.
Final free weekend
by admin on Jan.17, 2010, under Uncategorized
Well I just had my final fully free weekend until mid May. Was able to pick up 5 books for class, top off my pencils and pens, clean the apartment, do laundry and relax. Class starts on Tuesday and I am kinda ready for it as it makes the days go by faster.
I will be attending Lone Star College – North Harris, as it is located between my apartment and work, so I go to class then continue on to work.
This semester I have the following schedule:
Mondays and Wednesdays
9:00am – 10:20am – English 1301 – Composition and Rhetoric I
1:00pm – 2:20pm – Speech 1311 – Introduction to Speech Communication
Tuesdays and Thursdays
9:00am – 10:20am – History 1302 – US History Since 1877
10:30am – 12:20pm – Math 0308 – Introduction to Algebra
12:30pm – 1:50pm – Government 2301 – American Government I
Also on Sundays – Wednesdays I work from 3:30pm – 1:30am, so there will be some really short nights.
Its going to be a challenge, and I really want to keep my 4.0 so I will have to do what it takes to get these classes completed. If everything goes as planned I will be moving to the D/FW area sometime between May 2011 and August 2011and will start classes in the Fall at the University of North Texas. I am planning to get a Bachelors of Science in Emergency Administration and Planning (EADP), and if I really feel the need to punish myself they do offer a Masters in Public Administration with a focus in Emergency Management.

WELCOME!!!
I decided to put up these pages to share my interests and to give me a place to work on ideas. I try to keep these pages updated, but it may be some time between posts.
To the left you will find a link to my Google Voice number which is linked to my cell phone, a list of active storm warnings, and my last 4 Twitter updates.
I am working on the sections at this time and some may be blank. Check back later and see if they are updated.
